This unique book offers a wealth of simple suggestions and ideas for effective meetings administration, presented in a succinct, accessible style, with an invaluable range of relevant hints and tips from other professionals. It is a distillation of over a quarter of a century of the author's experience of preparing for and attending meetings of various descriptions.

A few nuggets of relevant law are thrown in, but this is essentially a practical guide. Although the principal focus is on pension trustee meetings, much of the material has a far more general application.

The book is aimed primarily at anyone who has to organise, prepare for, or run any sort of formal or informal meeting and who feels that they need help to ensure that matters progress as smoothly as possible. It will also be of value to those who attend meetings and would like reassurance that the meetings are being run properly and well.

One of the reviews currently appearing on amazon.co.uk:

'This excellent little book offers really useful information and suggestions for anyone who has to arrange, attend or minute a meeting. Total novices and old hands alike will find much of value, including some fresh ideas on how to make meetings run smoothly and quickly.

'There are plenty of examples of different layouts for agendas and minutes, plus hints on how to ensure minutes are circulated promptly after meetings, how to monitor follow-up actions plus a host of other relevant topics.

'Although the book is centred on pension trustee meetings, almost everything can be used for any sort of meeting, making it a handy resource for businesses, charity trustees, school governors and so on.

'If you've never met the concept of a `Chairman's Agenda', that alone should earn the book a place on your desk!'
